Dr. Ron Ames has been instrumental in the growth and history of Spring Valley Dental Group since 1992, providing comprehensive, patient-focused dental care to families across O’Fallon and the Metro East. After earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 1991, Dr. Ames began a career rooted in clinical excellence and community service.
Recognized by the Consumer Research Council of America as one of “America’s Top Dentists” (2005–2006), Dr. Ames is known for his expertise in both general and implant dentistry — and for his gentle, personable approach to every patient he treats.
Areas of Expertise
Dr. Ames provides a full range of care, including general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, and dental implants. He also treats complex cases involving neuro-muscular disorders, TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction), and sleep apnea.
His goal is to restore function and comfort while helping patients achieve long-term oral health and confidence in their smiles.

Giving Back to the Community
Dedicated to helping others beyond the office, Dr. Ames volunteers with the Smiles for Kids program to provide dental care to children in need. He has also served as an Overseas Dental Volunteer, offering care in Belize, Central America. Locally, he is a School Board Member for St. Teresa School and is actively involved in youth sports as a coach and sponsor.
Outside the Office
Dr. Ames and his family live in Swansea, IL. He enjoys playing on and sponsoring a fast-pitch softball team and is a soccer and volleyball coach. In his free time, he and his wife cheer on their three daughters as they compete in swimming and soccer. He also enjoys travel, fitness, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
