Meet Lance P. Martin, DMD

Lance P. Martin, DMD
Dr. Lance Martin has been a cornerstone of Spring Valley Dental Group since 2000, providing skilled, compassionate care to generations of families throughout O’Fallon, Shiloh, and communities across St. Clair, Clinton and Madison Counties. With over 30 years of clinical experience and a philosophy rooted in integrity, Dr. Martin combines advanced technical skill with a conservative-first approach to dentistry.
Dr. Martin has extensive experience helping patients restore missing or damaged teeth, with a particular focus on full and partial dentures, implant restorations, and treatment planning for long-term function and comfort. He takes time to explain each option, helping patients understand the differences between traditional dentures, implant-supported solutions, and other restorative treatments.
Education and Early Career
Born and raised in the St. Louis suburbs, Dr. Martin’s clinical foundation began at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 1993.
After gaining experience in several regional offices and successfully running his own practice for more than five years, he joined Spring Valley Dental Group in 2000. He chose to transition to our O’Fallon practice to focus exclusively on patient-centered restorative care and long-term oral health education.
Dentures, Implant Restorations, and Restorative Care
Dr. Martin provides personalized restorative care for patients who have lost one or more teeth or are struggling with older dental work. His experience includes complete dentures, partial dentures, implant restorations, crowns, bridges, and treatment planning for patients with complex restorative needs.
He understands that replacing missing teeth is not only about appearance. A well-planned restoration should support comfortable chewing, clear speech, facial structure, and confidence. Dr. Martin evaluates each patient’s oral health, existing teeth, bone support, lifestyle, and goals before recommending a treatment approach.
For patients considering dental implants, Dr. Martin evaluates their oral health, bone support, restorative needs, and treatment goals. He may place the dental implant when the case is appropriate for treatment within the practice and provides implant crowns and other implant-supported restorations. When specialist care is warranted, he coordinates the surgical phase and continues to oversee the restorative treatment.

Beyond Dentistry: Community Roots
When he is not in the office, Dr. Martin’s passion for precision carries over into his love for classic cars. A true car enthusiast, he has meticulously restored his own 1965 Mustang convertible, as well as his father-in-law’s 1965 Mustang Fastback. He brings that same patience and attention to detail to restorative dental care.
A lifelong musician with a talent for piano, drums, and guitar, Dr. Martin also stays active outdoors as an avid Jeep enthusiast and enjoys hiking throughout the National Park System.
He and his wife, Kirsten, are proud O’Fallon residents, living locally with their three crazy dogs. They have raised two children in the community. Alexis, their oldest, recently earned her Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Kansas and now practices at HOK in St. Louis. Their youngest, Reagan, graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, in May 2026.
Dr. Martin believes dentistry is a calling and an opportunity to serve others through education, prevention, and compassion. His patients describe him as approachable and thorough, a dentist who takes time to explain each option and places patient comfort first.
