Patient Code of Conduct & Mutual Respect Policy

At Spring Valley Dental Group, we believe mutual respect is the foundation of excellent care. Our Patient Code of Conduct ensures every visit reflects professionalism, safety, and compassion—for both our patients and our team.

This policy works with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy & HIPAA Notice, Patient Communication Policy, and Accessibility Statement.

This Code of Conduct exists to safeguard our staff, preserve the quality of care, and ensure every interaction—whether in person, by phone, or online—reflects mutual respect and courtesy.

Our Commitment to You

We promise to:

  • Treat every patient with kindness, dignity, and professionalism.
  • Provide transparent information about your care, treatment options, and costs.
  • Protect your privacy in accordance with HIPAA and all applicable laws.
  • Strive to make every visit as comfortable, positive, and efficient as possible.

Patient Responsibilities

We ask our patients to:

  • Communicate respectfully with all team members—both in person and electronically.
  • Arrive on time for appointments and provide reasonable notice of cancellations.
  • Follow clinical and financial policies so that we can serve all patients effectively.
  • Refrain from abusive, threatening, or harassing language, gestures, or behavior.

Zero-Tolerance Policy for Disrespectful Conduct

Our team deserves to work in a safe and professional environment. The following behaviors are not tolerated:

  • Yelling, cursing, or using aggressive or demeaning language.
  • Intimidating, threatening, or hostile actions or gestures.
  • Discriminatory or harassing remarks of any kind.
  • Repeated disruptive or inappropriate conduct after prior warnings.

Patients who engage in these behaviors may be dismissed from the practice.
Dismissals are conducted in accordance with Illinois law and professional ethical standards. Written notice will be provided, and emergency care may be offered for a limited time as required by regulation.

Mutual Accountability

Respect is a two-way commitment. Our doctors and staff are equally responsible for upholding these same standards of courtesy, professionalism, and integrity in every interaction.

Online Conduct

We welcome constructive feedback and honest reviews. However, false, misleading, or harassing online statements can harm our staff and patient community.

While HIPAA privacy laws prevent us from discussing individual cases publicly, we reserve the right to correct misinformation and request the removal of false content when necessary.

Our Promise to Protect Our Team

We believe our team deserves a workplace free from hostility or fear. Protecting their well-being allows us to remain fully focused on what matters most—your care, comfort, and long-term oral health.
